Off-light is a light effect created and designed in january 2016 during my master at the royal college of art. Based on photonics, sciences of light, this project tries to explore the material potential of light. On this video we can see a light reflection in movement on a fabric. I used this work for for an installation during the exhibition Off-Cell that took place in Shoreditch London in march 2016.
Using different layers this surface designed in january 2016 is hovering by electromagnetism, which enables the surface to rotate smoothly without any friction. When a focused beam hits the surface, the reflection creates a surreal effect and expresses a 3 dimensional form.
